# Structured data (JSON-LD)

Schema.org JSON-LD gives agents typed data about your page that is easy to process.

## What it checks

The extension looks for `<script type="application/ld+json">` blocks on the page being scanned. It reads them from the rendered page when it can, which catches blocks added by scripts, and from the raw HTML otherwise.

Each block must parse as JSON, declare a Schema.org `@context`, and carry an `@type`. JSON-LD with another vocabulary, such as an analytics payload, does not count as Schema.org data.

## Results

| Status   | When                                                                            |
| -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Pass** | At least one block has a Schema.org `@context` and the data has an `@type`      |
| **Warn** | JSON-LD blocks exist, but none is usable Schema.org data; the evidence says why |
| **Fail** | The page has no JSON-LD                                                         |

## How to fix

Add Schema.org JSON-LD that describes the page, in a script tag in the HTML:

If blocks are present but not counted, check that each one is valid JSON, declares `"@context": "https://schema.org"`, and has an `@type`.
